Cabin 1A is an independent publication. We pay our bills through affiliate partnerships, and we're transparent about how that works.
How Affiliate Links Work
When we recommend credit cards, hotels, or travel services, we often include affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase or application, we may earn a commission from the company — at no extra cost to you.
For example:
- If you apply for a credit card through our link, the card issuer may pay us a referral fee
- If you book a hotel through our link, the hotel or booking platform may pay us a commission
This does not increase the price you pay. In many cases, you'll receive the same bonus offers and pricing as going directly to the company.
How This Affects Our Editorial
The short answer: it doesn't.
We recommend products based on their merit, not on commission rates. Our editorial decisions are made independently of our business relationships. Many products we recommend don't have affiliate programs at all — we include them anyway because they're genuinely good.
We also regularly recommend against products from companies we have affiliate relationships with, when those products aren't good fits for our readers.
What We Won't Do
- We won't recommend inferior products because they pay higher commissions
- We won't hide negative information about products we're affiliate partners with
- We won't accept payment for reviews or editorial placement
- We won't let advertisers review or approve our content before publication
Advertiser Relationships
Cabin 1A may have affiliate relationships with the following types of companies:
- Credit card issuers
- Hotel chains and booking platforms
- Travel booking services
- Airlines and travel service providers
The presence of an affiliate relationship does not guarantee coverage, and the absence of one does not preclude it.
